About
Hello! My name is Stephanie Weber. I’m a writer and a comedian in Los Angeles, originally from Chicago.
COMEDY
I began my career performing sketch and improv comedy with the award-winning troupe Warm Milk. I studied at Second City, iO, and the Annoyance Theater. My solo sketch show Miss Business was invited to perform at the Boston Women in Comedy Festival, Chicago Sketch Fest, and SOLOcomNYC. I am a stand-up comic who enjoys producing as well as performing. I co-produced the comedy shows Chicago Underground Comedy and the Lincoln Lodge. I starred in the original pilot Video Vista and have played roles on Hello! It's Hobart and The Megan Stalter Show. I was also on a ghost-hunting reality show, but that's a whole other thing.
WRITING
My writing has been published in Bustle, Slate, Mental Floss, The A.V. Club, Atlas Obscura, Reductress, Mr. Skin, and more. I contributed to three games for Jackbox Games. My podcast, Directora, focuses on the history of women in film. Listen here.
FILM & TV
I have an MFA from SCAD in Dramatic Writing. I write TV comedy, feature screenplays, and plays. My feature scripts Comediettes, Poor Polidori, and White Hot Latina have been finalists in multiple screenwriting competitions, including LaunchPad, Inspired Screenwriting, Your Screenplay Produced, Moonshot Initiative, Finish Line, Beverly Hills Film Festival, and CineQuest. My indie pilot Video Vista was released in March 2020. It was a Best Comedy Honoree at the CineReels Festival, The New York Latino Film Festival, and the Orlando Film Festival. You can watch it here.

THEATER
My play Bleak was produced by North Park Theater in 2017. North Park then commissioned me to write a radio play in 2021 called Queen Cairo from Planet X. My play, Maria Garcia is Having Your Baby, was a runner-up for the MetLife Latino Playwriting Award. My play Comediettes had a staged reading at Larking House in Anaheim in December 2024 and will have a full production at Acorn Theater in spring 2026.
